Essential Oils Recipes

Recipes for Essential Oils

Listed below are some recipes for aromatherapy blends which you may need to help you with certain conditions you may be experiencing.

The ingredients to use for insomnia are: 10 drops Roman Chamomile; 5 drops Clary Sage; 5 drops Bergamot. Use a clean dark colored glass bottle in which to blend the oils. Add 1-2 drops to a tissue and put it inside your pillow. This will help you fall asleep.

You may also make a diffuser blend so that you may enjoy it an hour or so before you go to bed. Use 2 drops of Roman chamomile to 1 drop of Clary Sage to 1 drop of Bergamot, then add it to your diffuser. You may also use lavender to help with relaxation, however, if you use more than 1-2 drops, it can have the reverse effect.

For bath oil: Use 2 ounces of a carrier oil like sweet almond; 20 drops of lavender or 15-20 drops of your own blend of essential oils (use EOs that are not sensitive to your skin). Blend the oils and store them in an amber or cobalt glass bottle. Don't use the entire 2 ounces of bath oil in just one bath, instead put about 1/4 ounce (7-8ml) of the bath oil into your water. Use a smaller amount in a child's bath, but first of all, make sure those particular oils are safe for children. Mix the oils well in the bath water so that they will be dispersed adequately. The bath oil should be added to the water just before you get into the tub, rather than while the water is running. This way the oils will not evaporate before you get into the tub. This particular bath oil mixture is safer than adding pure EOs to your bath water because the EOs may settle in one spot and irritate your skin.
